Dan’s Gourmet knows how important southern culinary traditions are to American cuisine. They make dishes that do more than just taste good. They make meals that bring families together and remind them of home.
Dan Stephenson, Founder & CEO. Dan’s passion for creating food began as a child when he and his brother would compete to create their favorite dish, mac & cheese. After graduating Vanderbilt University with a degree in Economics and a minor in Corporate Strategy, Dan went on to work for Reagan-economist, Art Laffer. He eventually moved into corporate finance and strategic planning for Ingram Industries in Nashville, TN. During his corporate journey, he continued to innovate and experiment with food and share his culinary creations with friends and family. While Dan always had a love for creating food, he also “hungered” to start his own business and become an entrepreneur. Not long after, Dan’s Gourmet began.
Trained under head chef of Ruth’s Chris in hometown Cleveland, OH (2003). Graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt with a major in Economics (2006). Worked as Chief of Staff for Reagan economist, Art Laffer (2007-2008). 2008-2013: Worked in Corporate Finance, Economic and Investment Strategy for Ingram Industries; worked in Strategic Planning for Ingram Barge. Named Nashville 30 Under 30 (2012) and Nashville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 (2013). Named Entrepreneur of the Year by Mayor Dean and Nashville Downtown Partnership (2013). Won a NELA (Nashville Emerging Leader Award) in 2015. Joined Nashville chapter of EO (Entrepreneurs Organization) in 2015.
