Kim Coupounas

Director // B Lab

Kim Coupounas is a visionary leader and entrepreneur who is a passionate advocate for responsible business and a firm believer in the power of the corporation to do good in the world. Kim serves as a Director of B Lab, a nonprofit organization that certifies “B Corporations” and serves a global movement to redefine success in business so that all companies compete not only to be the best in the world, but the best for the world. There are over 1,500 Certified B Corporations globally, companies that are using their business as a force for good and meeting the highest standards for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. 

Kim was also co-founder, former CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer of GoLite, a global mission-driven outdoor apparel and equipment company. Kim is also past Chairman of the Board of the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), the trade association representing the $650B+ active outdoor recreation industry. She currently serves on the Harvard Business School Alumni Board, the boards of the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado, the Center for Social Responsibility at the Leeds School of Business, and as a Mentor/Advisor for the Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network, the Unreasonable Institute, Boomtown, and numerous other startup accelerators and incubators. She earned an A.B. Cum Laude in Philosophy from Princeton University, an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and an M.P.A. from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. She conducted graduate work at Pembroke College, Oxford University as a Rotary Foundation Graduate Scholar. Among her deep passions are time with her family and time outdoors, trail running, hiking, singing, doing yoga and martial arts, drinking great wine, and climbing big mountains.
