José Montero Jr.
President of The Montero Group
José is President of The Montero Group, an international strategy advisory firm based in Washington, DC. Along with his sister, Ana María and his late father, Pepe Montero, José also co-founded Trekking for Kids, Inc. in 2005. He currently serves as its Chairman and President. Most recently, José completed a two-year Presidential Appointment as Counselor to the Director of Citizenship & Immigration Services in Washington DC, during which time he oversaw the corporate restructure of the agency as well as serving as its Chief Communications Officer. Before serving the President in Washington, he worked for The Coca-Cola Company for 13 years in various capacities around the world. In his most recent role, he managed corporate business development projects for Latin America, which mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and alliances with media and marketing companies. Jose has worked in over 50 countries and has lived in Europe and South America. José earned his Masters of Business Administration from Georgetown University in 2001 and his Bachelor in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1995. He has been highlighted as one of the "Top US Hispanic Leaders to Watch," and has been selected by the Spanish Government as one of the "Top 15 Young Hispanic Leaders in the U.S." He also serves on the board of the Cuban American National Council in Miami. José speaks Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese and enjoys anything that gets him outdoors.
